Professional Clinical Counselor
Lynn began her family and school therapy career in 2004 and became a licensed professional counselor in 2007. She has over 20 years of experience providing mental health services to support diverse clients with ADHD, autism, anger management, anxiety, mood, substance abuse, grief, and more. Before joining Cortica, Dr. Sweeden worked in a behavioral health hospital for 9 years, providing hundreds of family therapy and counseling sessions annually in an inpatient setting. She believes that through understanding there is growth and positive change. She has spoken with and treated countless parents, guardians, and youth, interfacing daily with multi-disciplinary teams including psychiatrists and pediatric medical professionals.
Dr. Sweeden holds two master’s degrees in school counseling and therapy and a PhD in psychology. Much of her career has included meeting the needs of neurodivergent children. She enjoys cultivating an environment of mutual authenticity. Her focus on establishing communication helps her zero in on the uniqueness and strengths of others.
