Pediatric Nurse Practitioner

Shaina Smolik is a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner excited to be joining Cortica - Quincy this fall. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Brandeis University, where she studied Psychology and Health: Science, Society, and Policy. She went on to complete her master’s degree in nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. Shaina has gained extensive experience in complex, multidisciplinary care. She began her career in primary care before spending the past seven years at Spaulding Rehabilitation Hospital, where she cared for children and adolescents recovering from strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and other neurological conditions. Through this work, she has learned to support patients and their loved ones during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives—partnering with families to help guide them toward a positive trajectory in their care journey. She is deeply passionate about interdisciplinary, patient-centered care that empowers families and promotes healing. Outside of work, Shaina enjoys spending time with her husband and two young boys exploring the beaches in Scituate!
