Marriage and Family Therapist

Karina Marroquin is a bilingual Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. To Karina, the families, children, and relationships that come with building a therapeutic relationship have been the most fulfilling experience as a therapist. Working with at-risk adolescents as a Residential counselor first evoked that many years ago for Karina. Karina always wanted to do more, and so she went back to school. She earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University and started her training at a therapeutic school serving neurodiverse children and their families. There, Karina led various early intervention groups and became the facilitator of the social skills group for many years.

Through her vast experience with children and families, Karina has learned that it is through relational experiences that our children learn to express and understand their feelings, keep their bodies safe, interact with others, have valuable experiences, and gain precious memories. On the days that she is not working, Karina enjoys taking care of her body by staying active and sharing wholesome experiences with family and friends. She also enjoys drawing and even owns an easel board with an acrylic paint collection.
